Gentle Dental Burlington Reviews

This is the first time that I went to Gentle Dental, and from past experiences at different places, I can truly say this one lives up to its name — Gentle Dental. Everyone, from the front desk secretaries to the assistants and doctors, was very professional, considerate, and caring. They answered all my questions with gentle care and a smile.

I cannot say enough about how happy I am that I made the decision to go to this place. The doctor I had was amazing, and her assistant was equally wonderful. I'm sorry I forgot their names (or may have never heard them clearly), but I know they know who they are — and they were both truly exceptional.

The dental hygienist was also incredible. She clearly knows her job well and understands how to work with patients with compassion and care. It was such a great experience overall. Thank you, Gentle Dental!

After experiencing a traumatic dental experience at my previous office, I sought a new dental provider. Gentle Dental has completely transformed my perspective on dental visits. Their friendly and welcoming staff create a comfortable and informative atmosphere. The clinic is well-maintained and exudes a warm ambiance. The dentists are exceptionally patient and attentive to my concerns, answering all my questions thoroughly. They collaborated with me to develop a personalized treatment plan, fostering a sense of involvement in the process. Their genuine listening and care have made me feel at ease and eager to return for future dental appointments.

Cheyenne (hope I'm not misspelling here) helped me to make the appointment I needed and she was a pure delight to hear and interact with over the phone! The staff is kind, Dr Kim is thoughtful and kindly advises for the proper treatment to take care of your teeth without being overly pushy unlike other places. My hygienist was very sweet, thorough yet gentle handed to ensure the cleaning and she was very mindful of my concerns or reactions during the cleaning process (I have trouble with the vibrations caused by the tools over the teeth). I'll see the team in 6 months and wish them to take care!

Comprehensive Pediatric Dental Services We Offer

Preventive Care

Preventive care is the foundation of lifelong oral health, especially for children. At our Burlington pediatric dental office, we focus on early prevention to stop dental issues before they start. Our preventive services are designed to protect your child’s smile as they grow.

Regular Check-Ups

We recommend dental check-ups every six months to monitor your child’s oral health, catch early signs of cavities, and ensure proper development of their teeth and jaw.

Professional Teeth Cleaning

Our gentle cleanings remove plaque and tartar that brushing alone can’t reach. They also teach children the importance of oral hygiene in a fun and engaging way.

Fluoride Treatments

Fluoride strengthens tooth enamel and helps prevent cavities. We offer safe, effective fluoride treatments during regular visits to give your child extra protection.

Dental Sealants

Sealants are thin, protective coatings applied to the chewing surfaces of back teeth. They help prevent decay in hard-to-brush areas and are especially effective for school-aged children.

Restorative Treatments We Offer

When cavities, injuries, or other dental concerns arise, our Burlington pediatric dental team offers gentle, effective restorative treatments tailored to children’s needs. Our goal is to restore oral health while keeping your child comfortable and confident throughout the process.

Tooth Fillings

We use tooth-colored, BPA-free composite fillings to repair cavities and restore function without compromising your child’s smile. Our minimally invasive techniques ensure a quick and comfortable experience.

Crowns for Children

For teeth with extensive decay or damage, pediatric dental crowns provide lasting protection. We offer both stainless steel and tooth-colored crowns, depending on the location and condition of the tooth.

Tooth Extractions

In cases of severe decay, infection, or crowding, we may recommend gentle tooth extraction. Our team prioritizes comfort, using child-appropriate sedation and clear communication to ease the process.

Sedation Dentistry Options

We understand that some children may feel anxious or fearful about dental visits. That’s why our Burlington pediatric dental office offers safe and gentle sedation options to help children feel calm and comfortable during their treatment.

Laughing Gas

Also known as nitrous oxide, laughing gas is a mild sedative that helps children relax while staying awake and responsive. It's administered through a small mask and wears off quickly after the procedure, allowing your child to resume normal activities the same day.

Other Sedation Methods

For children with higher levels of anxiety or those undergoing more complex procedures, we may recommend alternative sedation options such as oral sedation or IV sedation. Our team will review all available choices with you to determine the safest and most appropriate method for your child’s needs.

Emergency Dental Care

Dental emergencies can be stressful, especially for children. Our Burlington pediatric dental team is prepared to handle urgent dental situations with care and compassion, ensuring your child receives prompt attention when it’s needed most.

Handling Dental Emergencies

From chipped or knocked-out teeth to severe toothaches or swelling, we provide immediate care to relieve discomfort and protect your child’s oral health. Our staff is trained to respond calmly and efficiently, helping both parents and children feel reassured during emergencies.

After-Hours Availability

We understand that dental emergencies don’t always happen during office hours. That’s why we offer after-hours guidance and support for urgent pediatric dental needs. If your child is experiencing a dental emergency outside of regular hours, our team is just a call away.

Your Child’s First Visit: What to Expect

Preparing for the First Appointment

We encourage parents to talk positively about the dentist and help their child feel excited for their first visit. Bringing a favorite toy or comfort item can help ease any nervousness. Our team also provides tips beforehand to ensure a smooth and happy experience.

Tour of the Office

During your child’s first visit, we’ll take them on a friendly tour of our Burlington office so they can get familiar with the space. From the colorful waiting room to the child-sized exam chairs, we make sure kids feel comfortable and confident from the moment they arrive.

Initial Examination Process

The first exam is gentle and designed to help your child feel safe. The dentist will count their teeth, check for early signs of decay, and evaluate bite and jaw development. We’ll also talk with you about brushing, diet, and growth milestones to support healthy habits at home.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I schedule my child's first dental visit?

You should schedule your child's first dental visit by their first birthday or within six months of their first tooth coming in—whichever comes first. This early visit allows the dentist to check for proper tooth development, identify any early signs of decay, and give you guidance on brushing, nutrition, and oral habits like thumb sucking. Starting dental visits early helps your child build comfort with the dental office and sets the foundation for lifelong oral health.

How can I help my child feel comfortable at the dentist?

You can help your child feel comfortable at the dentist by talking positively about the experience and explaining what to expect in simple, friendly terms. Avoid using words like “pain” or “hurt,” and instead focus on how the dentist helps keep their teeth strong and healthy. Bringing along a favorite toy or comfort item can ease nerves, and arriving early gives your child time to adjust to the environment. Choosing a pediatric dentist who specializes in working with children also makes a big difference—they know how to create a calm, friendly atmosphere that helps kids feel safe and supported.

How do you handle dental emergencies for kids?

We prioritize dental emergencies for children with prompt, compassionate care. Whether your child has a chipped tooth, knocked-out tooth, severe toothache, or oral injury, our team is trained to respond quickly and calmly. We offer same-day emergency appointments whenever possible and provide after-hours guidance for urgent situations. Our gentle approach and kid-friendly environment help ease anxiety and ensure your child receives the care they need without added stress.

What sedation options are available for anxious children?

We offer several safe and effective sedation options to help anxious children feel calm and comfortable during their dental visits. The most common is nitrous oxide (laughing gas), a mild sedative that helps children relax while staying awake. For more complex procedures or higher levels of anxiety, we may recommend oral sedation or IV sedation, both administered under close monitoring by trained professionals. Our team will discuss the best option for your child based on their needs, medical history, and the type of treatment required.
