Today's appointment was with Dr. Cash, preparing a tooth for a crown. Her dental office candor and mannerisms were top notch. I felt very comfortable and relaxed, and although the procedure was longer than I had originally expected, the time went by quick enough. I would high recommend her to anyone needing a dental procedure.
Dr M is the best . Been going to this office just over 5 years . Staff is great also
I am one with high anxiety going to dentist but from the front desk to the chair has been a great experience. Jesse at front desk is fantastic and Dr Cash and the assistants are absolutely wonderful. They are patient, very kind and answered all my concerns with honesty. I am having oral surgery in August (all my teeth pulled and temporary teeth placed) and I am confident it will be a positive experience and outcome. I am looking forward to the results I have wanted for years. I know I am in very capable hands with much less anxiety. I have never had faith in any dental practices until now. Thank you Gentle Dental of Concord, NH.
Root canal therapy is a dental procedure used to treat infection or decay in the pulp of a tooth. This treatment helps to preserve the tooth and relieve pain. At our Concord, NH office, we use advanced technology to ensure a comfortable and effective root canal experience. During the procedure, the infected tissue is removed, and the tooth is cleaned, disinfected, and sealed to prevent further infection. This prevents the need for tooth extraction and ensures the long-term health of your smile.
Common signs that you may need a root canal include severe tooth pain, swelling, or sensitivity to hot or cold. If left untreated, these issues can lead to further damage, including abscess formation and tooth loss. Root canals in Concord, NH, are performed by our skilled team to save your tooth and restore its function. Other signs to watch for include tenderness in the surrounding gums, a darkened tooth, or visible damage to the tooth. If you experience any of these symptoms, it's important to schedule an appointment right away to prevent further complications.
Root canal therapy is a step-by-step process designed to save your tooth. The procedure involves cleaning out the infected pulp and sealing the tooth to prevent further damage. At our Concord, NH office, we ensure a comfortable experience by using advanced techniques and state-of-the-art technology. After local anesthesia is administered, your dentist will access the pulp chamber, remove the infected tissue, and clean the inner canals of the tooth. Once cleaned, the canals are filled with a biocompatible material to seal the space and prevent reinfection. The tooth is then restored with a permanent filling or a crown for added protection and strength.
Preserving your natural tooth is crucial for maintaining overall oral health. Root canals in Concord, NH, offer a long-lasting solution that prevents further tooth damage. With high success rates, root canal therapy is an effective way to restore function and aesthetics to your smile. After a root canal, your tooth can continue to serve its function for chewing and speaking. It helps maintain the integrity of your bite and prevents shifting of the adjacent teeth. Additionally, preserving your natural tooth can help prevent bone loss that may occur after tooth extraction, maintaining the overall structure of your jaw and face.
After your root canal procedure, it's important to follow post-procedure instructions to ensure a smooth recovery. You may experience mild discomfort, but it should subside within a few days. If you notice any unusual symptoms, such as increased pain or swelling, please contact our Concord, NH office immediately. To aid in recovery, avoid chewing on the treated tooth until it is fully restored. Using over-the-counter pain relief medications as recommended by your dentist can help alleviate discomfort. Good oral hygiene is crucial during recovery to prevent infection, so be sure to brush and floss gently around the treated area.

Many patients fear that root canal procedures are extremely painful, but modern techniques and local anesthesia make the process much more comfortable. You may experience mild discomfort or sensitivity after the procedure, but it is usually short-lived and can be managed with over-the-counter pain relief. Root canals in Concord, NH are performed with your comfort in mind, ensuring minimal pain during and after the treatment.
A root canal procedure typically takes between 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the complexity of the treatment. For some teeth, the procedure may be completed in a single visit, while others may require more time or follow-up appointments. The length of the procedure can also vary based on factors such as the severity of infection and the number of canals that need to be treated.
After a root canal, it’s recommended to avoid chewing on the treated tooth until it has been fully restored with a permanent filling or crown. For the first few days, stick to soft foods such as soups, mashed potatoes, yogurt, and smoothies. Avoid hot, cold, or hard foods that might cause discomfort or stress on the tooth. Always follow your dentist’s specific instructions for post-procedure care to ensure a smooth recovery.
Maintaining good oral hygiene is key to preventing the need for a root canal. Brushing your teeth twice a day, flossing regularly, and scheduling routine dental checkups can help prevent tooth decay and infection. Additionally, avoid habits such as teeth grinding and using your teeth as tools to reduce the risk of damage. If you experience any dental discomfort, consult your dentist early to address any issues before they require more extensive treatment like a root canal.
If a root canal isn’t the right option for your tooth, your dentist may recommend alternatives like tooth extraction. In some cases, a dental implant or bridge can replace the extracted tooth. However, preserving the natural tooth with a root canal is often the preferred option to maintain overall oral health and function.
