My family has been going to Gentle Dental for the last year and we're just happy all around. The front desk staff is hilarious and friendly. The dental technicians are super helpful and get you set up for the doctor super fast. DR. Joe is crazy fast and mostly pain free. Cleaning, planing, fillings and braces so far and we'll keep going back. One of the best dental practices in the area for sure.
Pleasant waiting area. The staff was friendly and able to get paperwork done promptly. Also the staff kept me informed as to what & Y they were doing. The dentist Dr Joe was even more informative as to what was happening to my dentures and the inside of my mouth. He knew immediately that I was not doing All the things he suggested on my last visit! Over all as has been my experience over the past 20 years.Gentle Dental Attleboro has provided me the Best and most knowledgeable experience! Thank you to the Staff and Dr Joe!
I was looking for a new dentist and since Gentle Dental is very close to me, I decided to check it out. I have anxiety about going to the dentist, so I read reviews online and stopped by to get a feel for the office and staff. The office is clean and pleasant looking and the receptionist was very welcoming. I was able to book an appointment within a few days. During the appointment I had some xrays taken and met and was examined by the dentist, Dr. Joseph Capua. He was so nice and very gentle, totally putting me at ease. I am happy to say, I have found my new dentist and this really is a Gentle Dental experience.
A periodontist is a dental specialist trained to prevent, diagnose, and treat conditions affecting the gums and the bone supporting the teeth. Periodontists complete additional specialized education beyond dental school, with a focus on both non-surgical and surgical gum disease treatment.
Scaling and root planing is a deep-cleaning procedure that removes plaque and tartar from below the gumline. The tooth roots are also smoothed to help the gums heal and reattach more securely.
Gum graft surgery replaces gum tissue lost to recession. The procedure helps cover exposed tooth roots, reduce sensitivity, and protect the affected teeth from further damage.
Pocket reduction surgery reduces the depth of spaces between the teeth and gums where harmful bacteria can collect. Shallower gum pockets are easier to clean and maintain over time.
Periodontal maintenance involves specialized cleanings scheduled more frequently than routine dental checkups. These appointments help manage previously treated gum disease and reduce the risk of recurrence.
Your periodontal evaluation may include measuring gum pocket depths, checking for inflammation and recession, and assessing the bone supporting your teeth. Digital X-rays may also be used to identify bone loss or other concerns.
Your periodontist will recommend a treatment plan based on the type and severity of your gum condition. Care may include non-surgical treatment, surgical procedures, or a combination of both.
Scaling and root planing, gum grafting, pocket reduction surgery, or another recommended procedure will be performed with a focus on comfort, accuracy, and preserving your oral health.
Follow-up appointments allow your periodontal team to monitor healing, evaluate how your gums are responding, and make any necessary adjustments to your care plan.
Regular periodontal maintenance visits help control plaque and tartar below the gumline, monitor gum health, and reduce the likelihood of gum disease returning.
Our periodontal professionals are trained to diagnose and treat gum disease at different stages using treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
Digital X-rays and other diagnostic tools may be used to evaluate gum health, measure bone levels, and support accurate periodontal treatment planning.
Periodontal treatment can be coordinated with preventive, restorative, and general dental care within the Gentle Dental network, helping simplify your overall treatment experience.
