I truly can’t say enough great things about Dr. Israel, his assistant Lauren, and the hygienist Leah. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and genuinely cared for. The entire team creates such a calm and positive atmosphere that it actually makes going to the dentist something I look forward to! Dr. Israel is an outstanding dentist — incredibly knowledgeable, gentle, and attentive. He takes the time to explain every step of the process and makes sure you’re completely comfortable before proceeding. His professionalism and kindness really stand out. Lauren, his assistant, is wonderful — always organized, supportive, and caring. She and Dr. Israel work together so smoothly, which helps everything go efficiently and stress-free. Leah, the hygienist, is amazing at what she does. She’s so thorough but also gentle, and she offers really helpful tips without ever making you feel judged. Her friendly and calm demeanor makes cleanings a breeze. This team is everything you could ask for in dental care: skilled, compassionate, and truly dedicated to their patients. I recommend them wholeheartedly!
I have terrible dental anxiety which kept me from going to a dentist for almost 10 years. I knew I needed a lot of work done so I finally made the appointment here at Gentle Dental and I’m SO glad I did. These people are so incredibly kind and compassionate. They weren’t judgmental or pushy. They explained everything to me in detail and didn’t make me feel bad or rushed. I had cavities filled today for the first time in over 10 years by Dr. Israel and his assistant Jalyn and it was as great an experience as one can have at the dentist. They were so kind and calming, took tons of breaks and checked in. Truly could not have had a better experience. I will recommend this place and specifically Dr. Israel and Jalyn to anyone who will listen!!
My visit to Gentle Dental was great. Dr. Entezari was super nice and friendly. He patiently listened to all my concerns and explained everything in detail. I asked a lot of questions as I am an engineer and curious. He answered all those questions very patiently and clearly. He is a very smart and talented dentist. He was able to polish my veneer in few minutes and I am very happy with the results. He is very experienced and skilled. He knows what he is doing. I will need to do filling on my teeth and he kindly fit me in his schedule on time. More importantly, he is caring, kind and loves to go beyond and that makes him special. Jalyn, his assistant was super nice and caring. She patiently took the X-Ray of my teeth and was speaking with me the entire time as a great host. She even took care of a wound on my finger that was bleeding for some reason. Not a tooth! Kindness is there. The staff at the front desk are also very nice, friendly and helpful. They are professional and explain things if there are any questions or concerns pertaining to the costs and insurance. Michelle, the office manager, is very nice and professional. She patiently explained to me why the new patient fee was not covered by my insurance since Aetna covered X-Ray only once every 5 years and I had used that once before seeing Gentle Dental. In conclusion, I strongly recommend Dr. Entezari and Gentle Dental folks as they are professional, caring, nice, kind, and helpful!
Wisdom teeth extractions remove one or more third molars, the last adult teeth to come in. Dentists recommend them when those teeth are stuck, painful, decayed, or likely to damage nearby teeth.
Some wisdom teeth come in normally and cause no trouble. Others stay partly under the gum or grow at an angle, which can lead to swelling, infection, crowding, or hard-to-clean spaces at the back of the mouth.
Common signs include pain in the back of the mouth, tender gums, jaw stiffness, and swelling around the last molars. You may also notice food trapping, bad breath, or pressure on nearby teeth.
In Rochester, patients often come in after repeated flare-ups or trouble cleaning the area near the wisdom teeth. An exam and dental X-rays help Gentle Dental see whether removal is the safer choice.
First, your dentist reviews X-rays and talks through the plan. You receive numbing medicine, and sedation may be discussed if the procedure is more complex or if you feel very anxious.
For an impacted tooth, the dentist may make a small opening in the gum and remove the tooth in sections. The area is cleaned, and gauze is placed to help control bleeding as healing begins.
Recovery usually includes swelling, soreness, and some bleeding during the first day. Most people do best with rest, soft foods, ice packs, and careful brushing around the extraction sites.
Follow the aftercare instructions closely to lower the risk of dry socket, a painful condition that can happen if the blood clot is lost too soon. Call the office if pain worsens instead of improving.
If a wisdom tooth is healthy, fully erupted, and easy to clean, your dentist may monitor it instead of removing it right away. Regular X-rays help track changes over time.
Other options include treating infection or decay when the tooth is still salvageable. But if the tooth is impacted, damaging nearby teeth, or likely to cause repeat problems, extraction is often the most practical choice.
The cost depends on how many teeth are removed, whether they are impacted, and whether sedation is used. A simple extraction usually costs less than a surgical removal that requires more time and planning.
Insurance may cover part of the treatment when removal is medically necessary. Our team can help you review benefits, estimate out-of-pocket costs, and discuss payment options before treatment begins.
Yes, wisdom teeth extractions are a routine oral surgery procedure when they are planned and performed properly. Your dentist reviews your health history first to lower risks tied to medicines, bleeding or healing.
Possible complications include swelling, dry socket, infection, nerve irritation or delayed healing. Most are uncommon, and careful aftercare plus follow-up instructions help reduce the chance of problems.
At Gentle Dental, your Rochester team evaluates the teeth with X-rays, explains whether removal is recommended, and reviews sedation when it may help with comfort or anxiety. That makes the plan clear before the visit starts.
We also help patients understand insurance and payment options for oral surgery so they can move forward with fewer surprises. If you think your wisdom teeth are causing trouble, contact our Rochester office to schedule a visit.
